- About bear leek
Together with the snowdrop, bear leek is the first plant in the beginning of spring promoting the end of wintertime. It grows in shady beech-grove-, hornbeam-, oakwood. The alliums of bear leek can be found 15-20 cm deep in the soil from where they rise by the end of winter. It is the first fresh green pasture to wild beasts. According to the legend, bears waking up from their winter hibernation preferred consuming it by reason of its gastro and bowel cleaning effects. Its bulb is longish and white, with two leaves being grown on its 25-30 cm long vivid green stem. In between the leaves it grows a light green seed stalk with a star-shaped lily being raised on the peak. Its specific garlic scent can be felt in each part of the bear leek. This aroma intensifies at blooming.

Our agricultural enterprise, established in 1997, is present on the market as one of Hungary’s biggest bear leek collector- and merchandiser since 2013. Our love of nature overarches generations, motivates us to continuous development and results in 40 hectares of fertile land.

- Fresh bear leek
We collect bear leek leaves to order and guarantee that it arrives to our customers’ warehouse within 12 hours after being collected –in Hungary - and 20 hours after harvesting if it needs to be exported. The leaves are placed in spring water right after being harvested so that we could preserve the freshness of the bear leek.
